Destination Southern Maryland Executive Director Lucille Walker is Keynote Speaker at MCPA Conference

Destination Southern Maryland Executive Director Lucille Walker will be the keynote speaker at the Maryland Planning Commissioners Association 38th Annual Conference. The executive director will be speaking tomorrow, Tuesday October 26, at the Annual Meeting and Keynote Speaker event from 12–1:15 pm. The 38th annual conference will offer topics of interest to the more than 1,400 citizen planners serving Maryland’s counties and municipalities.

This virtual conference, happening Monday October 25–Wednesday October 27, will offer a robust schedule of topics fostering communication and sharing information to improve planning practices and procedures. This year’s conference theme is Let’s Get Back to It!, as Maryland bounces back from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The MPCA is focusing the content of the 2021 conference on what comes next after the pandemic for planning. The benefits of a functioning and thriving citizen planning board to a community are more apparent than ever.
