The trail is located partially on the right-of-way of the long-abandoned Chesapeake Beach Railway and offers scenic views of Fishing Creek and hundreds of acres of surrounding marsh and forest. Wildlife is abundant and visitors are quite often treated to bald eagle sightings. There is now a pollinator hotel, mosquito repellant garden display and bat house.
