Enjoy a one-hour cruise around Solomons Harbor and the Patuxent River aboard the only Coast Guard-licensed log-hulled vessel in America.  Built in 1899, this National Historic Landmark was later converted from sail to power and served as an oyster buyboat until 1978.  Departs from the Calvert Marine Museum dock, weather permitting.  Assistance needed for wheelchair boarding (ramp).

Visit this restored 1934 seafood packing house to learn about the boom and decline of the region’s commercial seafood industries. The exhibits explore all aspects of oyster processing – from receiving oysters at the dock to storing, chucking, washing, packing and shipping the product to markets across the region. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Drum Point Lighthouse dominates the Calvert Marine Museum’s waterfront. This screwpile, cottage-type light is only one of three remaining from 45 that once served the Chesapeake Bay at the beginning of the 20th century.

Tour history at the oldest continuously working lighthouse in Maryland. Built in 1828 by John Donahoo, the 40-foot brick tower is surmounted by an iron lantern containing a lens manufactured in Paris in 1897. Buildings at the Cove Point station include a 1901 fog signal building, a brick generator/fog signal building, green keeper’s home and a two-bedroom cottage. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Limited access for wheelchairs.
