Sweden Point Marina

Located just one mile from the main stem of the Potomac River, Sweden Point hosts many bass tournaments.  The marina has six boat ramps and piers to facilate launching.  Many park amenities are available.  Take Route 301 to Route 225 West in La Plata and left onto Route 224 and follow signs to the parks.  From Route 210, take Route 225 East in Indian Head to right onto Route 224 and follow signs to the park.

Located on a Potomac River tributary, the 628-acre park features a marina, boat launch, camping, tournament level bass fishing, the Mattawoman Creek Art Center and Smallwood’s Retreat, home of Revolutionary War General William Smallwood.

Mattingly Park Ramp

This ramp, with pier, is located along deep water in Mattawoman Creek. The boat ramp is maintained by the Town of Indian Head and is part of Mattingly Park. The ramp can best be described as adequate and is most often frequented by bass boaters and small boat owners. There is a ramp fee honor box at the rampside. Parking is available for approximately 15 vehicles. Follow Indian Head Highway (Route 210 South) to the end of the road, about 18 miles from the Washington Beltway. Turn left onto Mattingly Ave to the ramp.
